My name is Shawn MacIntyre, I have been a history enthusiast all my life. After 22 years working in the Emergency Medical Services, I chose to go back to college at the age of 44. I graduated from Point Park University, Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors degree in history. My primary focus in history is the United States from early colonies to the American Civil War.
I have worked as a volunteer at the Heinz History Center. I did my senior internship at the Fort Pitt Museum as the living history intern, and I currently work at the Meadowcroft Museum and Rockshelter.
I have been a part of living history for nearly twenty years with the Society for Creative Anachronism, A medieval re-creation group. I am also a part of Captain William Trent’s Company, a French and Indian War and 18th-century reenactment group.
My blog and my page will contain photographs and information about historic places I visit, as well as, papers I have written. My hope is to get more people involved in Hands on History. I hope you enjoy your visits!
